4 key recruitment trends of 2015
We have mentioned in a couple of our previous blogs that quality recruitment is a challenge now for companies of scale and size, especially the SMEs. Now when the demand for skilled professionals is at its highest, companies are coming up with newer recruitment strategies and coping up with a few new trends.
After the first quarter of the year passed, we can clearly identify the 4 key trends–
Talent branding
It’s an in-thing now in the recruitment sector. Talent branding means promoting yourself as a great employer by the talents already acquired by you. If people who work for you can spread good words and let people know what a remarkable employer you are, it’s more likely that you shall attract good candidates.
Everyone is bothered about work environment and companies need to harp on it. Social media is the ideal platform. Create company pages, ask the HR and marketing team to upload pics or write posts frequently. Make sure to engage your employees on those platforms so that the threads get continued.
Passive Candidate Sourcing
This league is expanding as more and more people are shifting to ‘work from home’ mode and rejecting the idea of permanent employment. So, the gap is widening, between the active and passive candidates. To bridge the gap is the trend now and the best possible way of sourcing passive candidates is to hire a recruitment agency.
Your internal HR team already has too many things on its plate and it becomes too tedious to source people who are actually not seeking employment but possess all the traits of an ideal candidate.
Professional Networking
Many employers and HR heads bank on professional networking to identify potential candidates. Scanning profiles in LinkedIn or Facebook and sneak-peeking on the internet job boards is common. But this process doesn’t work well for all, as per some of our clients’ feedback.
After recruiting a number of people through professional networking and later being disappointed with their performance, they had to knock our door and we are happy that we could serve them satisfactorily.
Recruitment Outsourcing
Many multinationals and large corporations have multi-tier HR infrastructure that can take care of all the nitty-gritties— from sourcing, scanning, shortlisting, interviewing to recruitment. At the same time there are brands that fully believe in recruitment outsourcing.
Instead of using up the man-hours in sorting candidatures and exhaustive interviews they hire recruitment agencies and focus on other HR jobs.
